A day of adventure in Long Beach, CA

You're on vacation, you're supposed to spend more than you had planned. Long Beach is happy to help. Whether you're looking for "just a little something" or that perfect gift, Long Beach shops are sure to please. Explore Downtown's Pine Avenue for curiosities at stores brimming with the latest and greatest. Then, treasure hunt in 4th Street's funky collection of vintage boutiques. Belmont Shore's Second Street offers more options for the casual shopper at stores filled with unique gifts, the latest fashions and some of the hippest furniture shops in LA. Still haven't spent enough? Mainstream shopping can be found at several outdoor centers throughout the city including Marina Pacifica, the Marketplace, Los Altos and the Long Beach Towne Center.

So now you've shopped, and you feel like you're going to drop if you don't get some lunch. Find everything from casual cafes to romantic restaurants in Long Beach. Adventurous appetites won't want to miss the "restaurant row" of Long Beach. Located on Pine Avenue, this hip collection of fare can't be found anywhere else. Here, award-winning restaurants serve patrons everything from spicy Latin cuisine to savory selections from Italy, Greece, Japan and more.

After lunch, head to the Aquarium of the Pacific and come face-to-fish with the living sea. Next, venture across the way and board the historic Queen Mary for an above-water experience sure to wet your imagination. Be sure to bring your walking shoes- you won't want to miss a guided tour through lively Downtown or the colorful East Village. Afterward, continue your journey through Long Beach's past with a tour of Rancho Los Alamitos or Rancho Los Cerritos. And of course, no visit to Southern California would be complete without a day at Universal Studios Hollywood, Disneyland, and Disney's California Adventure theme park. These world-class attractions are within a one-hour drive from Long Beach.

Trade your walking shoes for dancing shoes and step into the nightlife of our big city by the beach. Whether you enjoy country music or alternative, Long Beach has a place for you to kick up your heels. Seduce the room with your savory salsa moves at one of Pine Avenue's sultry Latin clubs or kick back with a sweet cigar and the smooth sound of Jazz at one of downtown's many upscale lounges. Sizzling night-life is always a part of Long Beach's after dark scene. Don't miss it!

It may be hard to pull yourself away from all there is to do in Long Beach, but you've got to get some sleep! Relax in one of Long Beach's fine hotels, comfortable motels, or friendly bed & breakfasts. With over 5,000 rooms, finding a place is easy. And no matter where you stay, your room will be as comfortable as your favorite pair of flip-flops.
