A family reunion in Milwaukee
Ah, Major League Baseball... My husband's team is the Milwaukee Brewers - I guess that makes them my team as well, eh? Don't get me wrong, I like baseball - in moderation. We're planning a trip to Milwaukee this summer for a family reunion, and of course he's going to a game or 3 - they're playing the Giants 3 times while we're there, and he's talking about going to all three games. Good thing his brothers will be there to go with him - I'm going shopping with my sisters-in-law, and for a girls' afternoon at the spa the day before the reunion. Ok, ok I guess I'll go to one Brewer's game... what he doesn't know is that he's going with me to see "The Odd Couple" at the Fireside Dinner Theater!

PA Dutch Country, here we come!

Every year we try to go somewhere new that we've never been before (we being my sister, my daughter and I.) This year we're heading to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania - the Heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country for Memorial Day. It's funny, I think we're all looking forward to different things, but we've got one thing in common - it looks like they have some great food! FlavorFest looks exciting, with it's foodie towns, and market towns to visit. We're planning to visit a working farm, maybe take an Amish buggy ride or other tour, and we always find time to have an afternoon at a local day spa. Would you believe we've got tickets to "Clue: The Musical" athe the Allenberry Playhouse? I'm sure between all these activities we have planned we'll find plenty of time to do some shopping in Lancaster County, as well, of course as eating! And you're crazy if you think we're not going to visit Hershey, Pennsylvania - we'll have to hit the gym doubletime when we get home from this trip!

Tacoma Birthday Weekend
Last weekend my 16 year old daughter (I can't believe she's 16... where does the time go?) went into Tacoma to see the Museum District my sister's always going on and on about. She just had her birthday, so this was kind of a weekend mother-daughter celebration. We had such a great day - not only did we see some amazing museums like the Tacoma Art Museum with it's beautiful collection of Chihuly Glass, and the Washington State History Museum's Pacific Northwest artifacts, but we stayed at an lovely bed & breakfast nearby, Branch Colonial House. Since it was a special occasion (she's only going to turn 16 once, right?) we took one of the luxury suites with a view of Puget Sound. For dinner on Saturday night we went to Galanga Thai Cuisine - I highly recommend this place. Fast, super-friendly service, wonderful food. This trip was certainly a long weekend my daughter and I will remember and treasure in the years to come!

Corpus Christi means music!
If you live in the Corpus Christi Texas area, and you like music - I'm sure you're familiar with the Concrete Street Amphitheater. They feature tons of great artists and groups from a variety of musical genres, including Tracy Lawrence on April 16th, Blue October on April 22nd, and Los Lonely Boys coming on May 19th!
If your musical tastes lean more to things like ballet and symphony, Corpus Christi Concert Ballet offers traditional family favorites like Alice In Wonderland, The Nutcracker, and Beauty and the Beast. Let the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra be part of a magical romantic evening with your special someone.
I wish I was going to be in the area to take advantage of some of the great events happening this spring in Corpus Christi, you can be sure I'll be planning a trip there soon!
