I've been through
Denali Park many times, and I've stayed in a variety of hotels & motels, even camped in the camprgrounds - some great, some not so great. Last summer my favorite place I stayed was
Denali River Cabins, it was such a nice place! Our cabin was super clean (which you don't always see when you're in the wilds of Denali Park!) and the staff was totally accommodating. We pulled in to Denali just after 5, hungry enough after the 2 hour drive from Fairbanks, so we went to eat at the on-site restaurant, the
Denali Roadhouse. Had an awesome salmon dinner, afterwards we went and lounged in the sauna - it was heavenly. I'll be heading back to Denali this summer, and instead of staying in town, I'll be taking the
bus tour out to Kantishna and staying at the
Kantishna Roadhouse for a few days. No better way to see McKinley than up close!
