Any traveling tips for me?

So this summer I'm going on a tour to London, Normandy, Paris, and Amsterdam. I've never traveled out of the U.S. before and I absolutely cannot WAIT. But I've heard people say that I should be careful about some things.. Like how I should ask for ice when ordering drinks in France because they don't usually drink beverages cold. I just would like some tips on what I should do while overseas. Thanks.:]
