Holidaying can be tough for singles, particularly if travelling alone. And if you've ever got the feeling that you were all alone out there, you might actually be right. So if you're looking for a cheap holiday with a side-helping of romance, you might want to bear these cities in mind.

Tourist Attractions in Memphis – Tennessee

[nggallery id=8]Memphis is located on the boundary of Tennessee dominating the Mississippi River. This city can be spotted on the top of the peak of a powerful river delta. This is the major entrance linking two essentially varied province of the United States of America.

A courteous ambiance of southern nobility has mix together with its Afro-American population. This is the origin of the Blues, and also the address of the Elvis Presley, the rock and roll king.

Attractions outside Memphis

The major attraction outside the city of Memphis is about 30 miles south in Tunica, Mississippi. This small town was improved as a gambling center with hotels, entertainment and casinos. Another main attraction is Tupelo, Mississippi, the birthplace of the Elvis Presley, king of rock and rolls. It is about 100 miles south east of Memphis. You can also visit his lonely childhood home.

Henning, Tennessee, is the birthplace and early home of Alex Haley, author of "Roots", about 50 miles north of Memphis. The Delta Queen riverboats sail from the Ohio River from New Orleans all the way up to Cincinnati, Ohio and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania about 1,500 miles upstream.

The music capital of the world is Nashville, Tennessee. It is about 200 miles to the east of Memphis. You can find Jack Daniels distillery, producers of the world’s finest Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskey in a small town of Lynchburg, Tennessee located fifty miles south of Nashville.

The best shopping is in the suburbs

Downtown Memphis is not a busy shopping area, and the shopping selections are in minimum level. Beale Street is the best place to get ample selection of Elvis souvenirs and Blue memorabilia. The best place to buy some interesting products is Schwab Departmental Store, which is 125 year old. The appearance of the store is old.

It is possible to see all the big shopping centers located in the suburbs just off the beltway around the city formed by I-40 and I-240. There are few smaller malls on Elvis Presley Blvd. near Graceland. For serious bargain hunters, The Belz Factory Outlet Mall is located in Lakeland about 40 minutes east of downtown Memphis.
