There are a category of elite travellers who have the luxury to travel without worrying about stringent budgets. But most of the individuals who love travelling have budget constraints. However, if people plan their travel in advance, and follow some simple tips, they can have a memorable fun-filled travel at relatively low budgets without needing to worry about comprising on luxuries.

Keep your eye open for bundle deals where you may get an exciting offer on air fare, hotel accommodation and sometimes, car rental. This could save the overall budget by a few hundred dollars.

Do not opt for non-stop flights for long distance travel. Changing planes at some location may be time consuming, but if you can afford that time, it is worth the effort to switch over flights in between to save some extra expense on travel.

It may be quite possible that the price of the air tickets might have gone down after you have purchased the ticket. Do not refrain from asking for a refund of the extra money. The worst result would be that you may not get back the difference in the prices but there is no harm asking as you may have some luck.

Perform adequate research on the internet while you book flights. You can fly the cheapest if you are not biased about some travel sites or certain flight types.

Plan your travel during off-season to enjoy a quiet trip without many tourists around, where the prices would be low in all the tourist attractions and accommodations. But make sure the weather is also good enough to have an enjoyable time. Otherwise, you cannot have your share of fun during your stay.

If you are travelling between different countries during a trip, driving down may work out cheaper than flying. Also, while travelling in countries like Italy and Scotland it would be more beneficial to opt for regional trains than direct trains to travel from one destination to another. The regional trains may take longer but you can save a lot of money on the ticket costs.

For accommodation purposes, instead of staying exactly at the city center, you can stay in surrounding locations from where you can get easy transport to the city without wasting a lot of time. Look for all-inclusive hotel accommodations to save a couple of dollars in the overall budget. These all-inclusive packages would include complimentary breakfast, recreational facilities, spa treatment, discounts on the nearby attractions or sightseeing places tickets, buffets and a lot of other package deals.

You can also look for alternate accommodations like home stays or tent accommodations if you are the adventurous type and you are looking for a backpacking trip. Another option is to book a clean and hygienic dormitory. The accommodation should be close to public transportation as this would save a lot of time in walking down to the place or save money on taxi to get to the nearest bus or railway station.

Carry your International Student Identity Card if you are a teacher or a full-time student. You would get a lot of discount on the tickets at various attractions and even in some hostels.
